Škoda Scores a Hat-Trick at the Carbuyer Car of the Year Awards 2022
The ŠKODA Octavia has added more gongs to its burgeoning trophy cabinet, scooping up a pair of awards at the Carbuyer Car of the Year awards 2022.
The annual Carbuyer awards celebrate the best cars currently on sale in the UK. The expert judging panel assess how each model performs in specific areas such as cost, performance comfort, safety and practicality as well as its overall package for buyers.
The fourth-generation Octavia Estate has been lauded by industry experts since its launch in 2020, and Carbuyer judges were once again impressed by its styling, advanced technology and cavernous interior space.
“The ŠKODA Octavia Estate has long been a byword for value, space and all-round ability, and the latest version builds on its hard-earned reputation. It’s also packed with great tech, has a roomy interior and is very pleasant to drive, making it our favourite estate car for 2022.” Said Richard Ingram, Carbuyer Editor.
Reflecting the current rise in demand of used cars, Carbuyer has awarded the Kodiaq Best Used Large Family Car, in reflection of its versatility for families large and small. Ingram said: “If you want a car to swallow an entire family and everything that goes with it, the ŠKODA Kodiaq is a brilliant all-rounder. With loads of space, simple-to-use tech and a decent driving experience, a car that represented cracking value new is an absolute steal second-hand.”
Not only taking the new car crown, the Octavia estate also won Best Used Estate for 2022. Richard Ingram adds: “It says a lot that the ŠKODA Octavia Estate is our top pick whether you're buying new or used. The previous-generation car was at the top of its game right up to the point it was replaced, making it impossible to argue with as a sound second-hand buy."
