Derek Slack Motors Subaru technicians - best in UK
At the double...
Back in 2011, we were delighted to announce Chris Harrison - from Derek Slack Motors, had become the UK’s number one Subaru technician, seeing off stiff competition from other UK finalists. Not content with being the official number one Subaru technician for 2011, Chris went for the double aiming to achieve the same title for a second consecutive year. Following in his footsteps, Subaru technician Mike Lamb also from Derek Slack Motors entered the same competition and we’re delighted to announce Chris has retained his title as the number one Subaru technician in the UK for 2012 while Mike came in a close 4th.
’It’s a real honer to receive the title for the second year in a row’, said Chris who also made it through to Subaru’s biannual ‘2011 World Technician Competition’ in Japan, making him one of the top 12 Subaru technicians in the world.’I’m over-the-moon, taking on and beating so many UK Subaru technicians to become number one in the UK for 2012. It’s great not only for myself, but also the region and Derek Slack Motors.’
Mike Lamb who came 4th in the competition added. ’We have a great service team here at Derek Slack Motors, both awards are national recognition that Derek Slack Motors have some of the safest Subaru service hands in the country. The training was intensive and there was a lot of knowledge among all the competitors, so coming 4th was a great achievement at my first attempt.’
Tony Slack said, ’We’re proud to have two of the countries best Subaru technicians working in Middlesbrough in our Subaru workshop. It’s nice to see Chris and Mike’s hard work and determination pay off. It’s great news Chris has retained his title which also gives him automatic entry to next years final for the world competition and the chance to once again travel to Japan. A big well done to them both who I’m sure will be trying just as hard next year.’
The timing of the awards couldn’t come at a better time as Derek Slack Motors prepare to celebrate 40 years service in Teesside as a local, family run dealership.
