Car Buyer showers ŠKODA with awards
Cars from across the ŠKODA range have been named as the best in the business by online motoring title Car Buyer. The CITIGO, OCTAVIA, SUPERB and KODIAQ were all named as best in their respective classes at the annual Car Buyer Best Car Awards ceremony in London.
Unlike other awards where cars are judged based on their size or price, the Car Buyer Awards focus on the needs of car buyers. The categories are driven by searches made on the Carbuyer?website, meaning that the awards are more relevant to motorists looking for the perfect vehicle.
Leading the way with three awards, the CITIGO was named Best First Car, Best City Car and Best New Car for £10,000. The recently updated city car took a clear victory over its competitors in all three categories, and was praised by the judging panel for its design and value for money.
Further up the size scale, the new OCTAVIA also bagged a hat trick of awards; Best Small Estate, Best Family Car and Best Car for under £300 per month for the OCTAVIA Estate. Updated earlier this year, the best-selling OCTAVIA impressed the judging panel with its high levels of technology and unbeatable day-to-day practicality.
Underlining ŠKODA’s reputation in the estate car market, the SUPERB was also recognised for its incredible levels of space and practicality. For the second year running it was named Best Estate Car – comfortably seeing off the competition to take top spot.
Not be left out, the new KODIAQ completed ŠKODA’s haul of silverware with Best Tow Car Award.
The judging panel took into account the SUV’s impressive towing capacity of up to 2,300kg, value for money and the availability of affordable towing accessories - including an electrically folding tow bar.
